Landscape After Hours – Exploring the Fungi of Distant Hill
May 27 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us for our first Landscape After Hours gathering of the 2026 season! Michael Nerrie, founder and CEO (Chief Environmental Observer) of Distant Hill, will lead us on an after-hours walk exploring the fascinating world of fungi. Set on 155 acres of biodiverse forest, fields, and wetlands spanning the Walpole–Alstead town line, Distant Hill offers an ideal landscape for discovering mushrooms and other woodland fungi.
As the group explores the trails, participants will search for emerging fungi while learning about their critical role in forest ecosystems—from decomposing organic matter to forming underground partnerships with plants. This relaxed field walk offers landscape professionals a closer look at the hidden fungal networks that support healthy soils, resilient forests, and thriving landscapes.

Experience the Industry!
Landscape After Hours (LAH) are free events that provide opportunities for landscape professionals to get together in a casual atmosphere while getting out and seeing interesting and innovative projects, sites, and services in NH’s green industry. Join us for a Thursday evening of inspiration, learning, and networking each month, May – October, 5:30 – 7pm.
There is no fee to attend LAH, but we do ask that you RSVP so we know how many people to expect and so we can contact you if we need to cancel due to weather. RSVP here for one or multiple LAH events.

LAH events will be held rain or shine (within reason). Dress for the weather and terrain.
