NHLA Webinar – Understanding Employee Retention Credit (ERC)

Registration Below

Several members have been asking about ERC and do landscapers qualify?  Since this is a time sensitive topic and specifically for owners, we decided to organized a webinar.

This article is to make you aware of a program from the federal government called ERC.  ERC or The Employee Retention Credit is a stimulus program created by the CARES Act that offers employers who suffered revenue loss, supply issues or loss of opportunity due to partial or full suspension of business, a tax credit of up to $26,000 per employee retained during the pandemic 2020 – 2022.

While many of us have been very busy through the pandemic it has been very difficult to get a wide variety of materials and supplies.  Plants, hardscape materials, trucks and equipment have been difficult and sometimes impossible to obtain.  Several companies have had projects cancel and had to scramble to fill their schedule.  When schools went remote many projects where delayed or canceled with very little notice.  These kinds of supply chain disruptions qualify for the ERC tax credit.

There are three ways to qualify for the Employee Retention Credit (ERC):

  1. Revenue Reduction—either a 50% reduction in gross sales in Q2, Q3 or Q4 of 2020 as compared to the same quarter in 2019; and/or a 20% reduction in gross sales in Q1, Q2 or Q3 of 2021 as compared to the same quarter in 2019.
  2. A supply chain disruption due to a COVID government-ordered suspension on a supplier in 2020 or 2021.
  3. A full or partial suspension of your business due to a COVID government order in 2020 or 2021.

If you are interested in finding out if you qualify for ERC there is a professional and reputable company called ERC Helpdesk.   Several members of NHLA have filed for ERC with their help.  They have a team of tax experts to help navigate the tax credit system.  They will walk you through the process and ask you some questions to determine if you qualify for benefits.  If you decide to proceed you will work directly with one of their experts.  They will help you gather the appropriate documents and they will make sure you receive the maximum benefit.

ERC Helpdesk and NHLA Webinar for Business Owners

The Employee Retention Credit is a tax refund that most businesses are owed! If you paid W2 employees during COVID, thousands of dollars may be waiting to be claimed.

In this webinar you will get advice from our experts on:

  • What the ERC credit is?
  • What the eligibility requirements are, and how you might qualify?
  • Claiming tips that could bring thousands of dollars into your business?
  • Why the best time to start your application is ASAP?
  • Who ERC Helpdesk is and how we can maximize your ERC claim!
  • Q & A

The webinar is free and there is no commitment.  We are just trying to have your questions answered.

You do not have to be an NHLA member to contact them, but as members we want to be able to recommend a professional and reputable company that will help you navigate a complex system. It is not complicated to determine your qualification, but the intricacies of getting your maximum tax credit can be difficult to interpret.

They make the process simple!  Once they receive your completed survey and a few tax reports from 2020 and 2021, they will tell you exactly what you qualify for ‘automatically’.  Whatever quarters are not automatically qualified, one of the ERC experts will then ask further detailed questions about your specific situation and determine if any alternative qualifiers apply to your company.  With all this information the ERC Helpdesk team will determine how to get you the maximum amount owed. They are experts and have found more money than most accountants.  Everything is completely secure and private!  There is no upfront cost to you.  If you receive benefits, then ERC Helpdesk will take 15% for processing.  If you do not qualify, you are not charged.

If you choose not to wait for the webinar, their website is ERCHelpdesk.com and the link is https://erchelpdesk.com/?fpr=pamela77 for more information about the ERC program and the survey.

For your convenience, we have set up two webinars.  The links will also be on our website.  Please pre-register.  Thank you!  ERC is not just for landscapers, so if you know of any business owners that would benefit from this webinar, please send them the link to join.
