Our first Twilight Meeting this season is at Exeter’s Gale Park, which underwent renovations in 2020 including the resurfacing of pathways. All of the pathways connect to the main focus of the park: the war memorial sculpture by Daniel Chester French.

Read Custom Soils installed Organic Lock Stabilized Stonedust, an ADA-compliant and permeable surface, ideally suited for nature paths and pedestrian walkways. Jeff Toomey, Read’s Northern New England Sales Representative, will discuss key points of engineered soils and how they can help create high performance landscapes with low impact. Jeff will also have some product samples on hand during the event to share.

Greg Bisson, Recreation Director for the town of Exeter, will offer some insight into the park and its rehabilitation, and why they chose stabilized stone dust as a surface.

Read Custom Soils (RCS) is New England’s most experienced precision soil blender. The company operates from a New Hampshire quarry, a Westford, MA, blending facility, and a state-of-the-art blending facility in Carver, MA. Read is New England’s leading provider of lightweight planting soil for green roof installations, stabilized stonedust for nature paths and pedestrian walkways, bioretention/raingarden soils, a proprietary blend ideally suited for challenging urban tree planting, and specialized soils for athletic fields.

The event begins at 6 p.m. Light refreshments will be offered by Lexie’s Burger food truck, courtesy of Read Custom Soils. There also will be giveaway items for everyone. This Twilight Meeting is free, but please pre-register with Mike Barwell, mikebarwell [at] yahoo.com.
