Remember that BIG tree you saw during your work around the state? You may be the one to discover and measure our next champion! Join us on Arbor Day for a NH Big Tree Workshop at Canterbury Shaker Village. It will be a hands-on day of outdoor learning and fun.
Be the one to discover our next champion… The NH Big Tree Program locates, measures, and records the largest trees of each tree species in all 10 NH Counties and throughout the State. NH even has 9 National Champions including the largest Eastern White Pine in the country! Join us for a workshop at Canterbury Shaker Village on Arbor Day. This event will feature an introduction to the NH Big Trees program where you’ll meet NH’s trees and hear their stories, and tour the big and historic trees of Shaker Village and the first Arboretum in the state. From there spend time exploring and get involved in identifying, measuring and registering these champions! Families are welcome and there will be special activities for kids.
