Summer Youth Green Team Leader
Seeking dynamic youth leader and educator for 2008 Summer Green Team Program. Leader will supervise up to ten high school youth ages 15-18 from the Concord, NH area for four hours/day for seven weeks, plus one or two additional hours each day for program coordination for an average of 25 hours/week. 1 or 2 eight hour days and one overnight weekend team field trip to national park possible. Program focus is on Green Infrastructure: Community Trees and Public Spaces. Physical outdoor work includes landscaping, light construction, trees and trails work. Team building and a community service project are integrated into weekly work program.
Candidates must be extremely mature, motivated, creative, and have some environmental education and teenage-level youth program coordination experience. College degree preferred. Applicants must be at least 22 years of age.
This is the second year of an exciting new and growing program for youth work, learning, and leadership. This is a temporary, part time position from May through August, start date flexible. everyday tasks and personnel management responsibilities of a medium-sized retail garden center.

Job Requirements - Only qualifying candidates need apply:
- Bachelor's Degree in the field of Horticulture, or 10-15 years field experience.
- At least 7 years experience in a growing and retail nursery environment, 3 of which were in a
management position.
- Strong Leadership, Management & Administrative, and Communication skills
- Maine State Pesticide Applicator's License or ability to obtain one
- Strong computer skills, especially in use of Spreadsheet and Word Processing Programs
(Microsoft Office Suite preferred)
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, lift 50 lbs unassisted
Other Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of plant material usable in USDA Hardiness Zones 5-3
- Knowledge of fertilizers and pesticides and how to use them.
- Knowledge of basic operation of a cash register.
- Knowledge of loaders and other machinery is a plus.
- Basic Knowledge of Irrigation Systems a plus.

Landscape construction project manager's primary role is to support the Landscape Construction Manager in the implementation of landscape construction projects. This position entails the managing and directing of 5-6 construction crews daily. Other duties include long term scheduling of projects, equipment, materials, and the oversight of quality and cost control. Other skills needed:
o Read/understand all aspects of blueprints.
o Read/layout grades on site.
o High knowledge of hardscaping and plant identification
o Creativity for plant layout and on site design.
o Ability to perform up sells on site.
o Great communication skills and a positive attitude are a must for this position!!!

Landscape Foreman: Requirements: 3+ years experience in landscape construction; clean driving record. Landscape certification is preferred but not required at time of employment. Responsibilities will include: Supervision of one crew on a project site, managing crew and duties, organize deliveries and materials, track project budget, run equipment and regulate equipment and truck maintenance.

Landscape Technicians / Maintenance Technicians: We are looking for energetic, focused people, with a clean driving record, who are interested in pursuing a career in the landscape industry. Experience is preferred but not required. We will train you on all aspects of landscape construction/ maintenance with opportunities for promotions to foreman and supervisor positions. Our projects are diverse and will provide you with a broad range of experience in the landscape industry. As your experience increases, so will your responsibilities.
